As I have mentioned there is rock in the front yard for landscaping. It looks nice but it's just not practical for the type and amount of plants I have. I was talking to a co-worker and she said "you know you're just going to pull that all out." I guess I hadn't actually thought that far but now that she mentioned it, why not? It's my house, it's my yard and I need a place for all of my beautiful flowers. So in a few months or sooner I may have a bunch of rock to give away. I thought about keeping it but it's not practical at all, where the heck would I keep all that rock?
I would much rather have the freedom to plant wherever I want and I love the look of red mulch.
So many projects but it's already planting time. Thank goodness I got that community garden plot or I would be out of luck.

Have fun digging those out! We had the same thing at our house when we moved it. Pulling them out is HARD and even now they keep bubbling to the surface. Looks better than it did though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement, geeze! Haha. I'm sure it will be worth it just to have my freedom to plant how I like. It looks like they did a good job of laying rock only on top of the fabric though, hopefully it won't turn into a huge job.
ReplyDeleteI have the same deal going on at my house. Last summer I got the rocks out of one area and put plants in with cocoa mulch. It was hard work but it was so worth it. I love looking at the before and after pictures! I still just sit out there staring at it. It's hard to believe I did all of that myself. I ended up with pretty awesome arms by the end of the summer from moving all of those rocks too! I say go for it. It's totally worth it!
